Calvert County does not require that employees purchase these benefits nor does it contribute to the cost of the benefits. These benefits are typically portable, meaning employees can keep coverage after they leave the County's employ.

Maryland 529 College Savings plans
There are two different plans available to employees to assist them in saving for college expenses via payroll direct deposit.
- Maryland Prepaid College Trust allows participants to lock in tomorrow's tuition at today's prices. There are flexible payment options and plans to fit your educational needs.
- Maryland College Investment Plan allows participants to choose from a variety of investment portfolios, managed by T. Rowe Price, which can be used at any eligible college, university, trade school or technical school.
