Calvert County Ordinance 20-15 (PDF): An Ordinance for the purpose of repealing Ordinance 27-14 and adopting a revised Ordinance for the purpose of extending subdivision, site plan, building and grading permits, and special exception approvals, and amending Resolution 02-14 to extend approvals and defer payment of water and sewer tap fees to address current economic hardships. Expiration of approvals between January 1, 2008 and July 1, 2012 are extended to May 4, 2017. Expiration of approvals between July 1, 2012 and August 1, 2014 are extended an additional four (4) years or completed by May 4, 2017, whichever is greater. Any revised expiration of either a preliminary or final site plan approval is subject to the Maryland Department of Environment and subject to the requirements of a valid grading permit.

Local builders and County citizens who have building and grading permit approvals, site plan approvals, subdivision approvals, special exceptions granted by the Board of Appeals, water and sewerage allocations, and/or projects in various stages of approval that will expire, and have been unable to proceed due to the economy, may be eligible for extension.
SB 958 Chapter 334 (PDF): Construction Permits Expiration Dates – On May 7, 2009, the Maryland legislature passed emergency legislation that requires the running of the period of approval for certain permits to be tolled for a certain period of time. In essence this legislation extends (or tolls) the expiration dates of those construction or development permits that expired during the period beginning January 1, 2008 and ending June 30, 2010.

Calvert County Ordinance 41-12 (PDF): An Ordinance for the purpose of Extending Subdivisions, Site Plan Building and Grading Permits and Special Exception Approvals and Amendments Resolution 2-98 To Extend Approvals and Defer Payment of Water and Sewerage Tap Fees to Address Current Economic Hardships. On June 12, 2012, the Calvert County Board of County Commissioners adopted legislation that upon receipt of a written request, an applicant is permitted an administrative extension of approval for a variety of approvals including but not limited to, site plans, subdivisions, Board of Appeal Approvals, Building Permits, and Water and Sewer Tap fees.
