Sheriff Department Pension Plan Board of Trustees


The County adopted the Calvert County Sheriff's Department Pension Plan effective July 1, 1989, for the benefit of its eligible employees; and the assets of the Plan shall be held in trust for the exclusive purposes of providing benefits to participants in the Plan and their beneficiaries, and defraying reasonable expenses of administering the Plan and the Trust.


The Trustees shall consist of nine members appointed by the BOCC:

  • including two employee representatives (one deputy sheriff and one correctional officer.)
  • County Administrator
  • Chief Financial Officer
  • Director of Public Safety
  • Director of Finance and Budget
  • Sheriff
  • two citizens who have financial expertise
  • The term of the employee representatives and citizen members shall be three years.

Open Meetings

  • Meets Quarterly: Meets the first Friday after the month that follows the quarter end. (February, May, August, and November)
  • Additional meetings are scheduled as necessary
  • Prince Frederick, MD
