John Norris

John Norris, county attorney, holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and Technology and a Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University. Norris has been with Calvert County Government since 2011. He previously served as county attorney for St. Mary’s County Government from 2002 through 2006, and deputy county attorney for the two years prior. He served as legal extern for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and has advised clients regarding matters of environmental law for international mergers and acquisitions. His experience includes labor and employment matters, administrative, trial and appellate litigation, contract negotiations, environmental law compliance (nationally and internationally), land use and real estate practice, regulatory compliance counseling, mergers and acquisitions, insurance defense and the general practice of law. Norris is an appointed member of the Judicial Nominating Committee and a member of the Maryland State Bar, the Federal Bar Association and the Calvert County and St. Mary’s County Bar Associations.
