Open Facilities & Operating Hours
Statewide limitations on gatherings, physical distancing measures and other protective health guidelines remain in place at all facilities to continue reducing the spread of COVID-19.
All recreation parks including Dunkirk, Hallowing Point, Cove Point and Solomons Town Center parks are open to all users, daily from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Permanent Restroom facilities, water fountains, playgrounds, athletic fields, skate parks, and basketball courts are open. Pavilions are available by reservation.
Community Centers Southern, Harriet E. Brown, Mt. Hope, Northeast Community Centers are open to for activities by reservation and facility rentals. For detailed information on specific facilities, please visit https://www.calvertcountymd.gov/1802/Community-Centers and click on the facility of your choice.
Grays Road, Dunkirk, and Cove Point Dog Parks are open to all users, daily from 8:30 a.m. to civil twilight.
Kings Landing Park is open to all users, daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Last entry at 4:00 p.m.
Kings Landing Park Pool and Cove Point Park Pool are currently closed for the season. Pools will re-open Saturday, May 29, 2021.
Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center is open for lap swim, therapeutic swim (18 years+) and leisure pool sessions as well as fitness room sessions (18 years+). Sessions are available by reservation only. Visit https://www.calvertcountymd.gov/395/Aquatic-Facilities for more information.
Breezy Point Beach is closed for the season. Breezy Point Beach will re-open May 1 , 2021.
Breezy Point Campground is closed for the season. Breezy Point Campground will reopen May 1, 2021.
Chesapeake Hills Golf Course is open to all users, Monday through Sunday Advanced reservations for tee times are strongly encouraged. Please call the Pro-Shop at 410-535-4653 to make a reservation. Please visit https://www.calvertcountymd.gov/422/Chesapeake-Hills-Golf-Course for hours of operation and more information.
Battle Creek Cypress Swamp is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. Please be advised that only limited sections of the boardwalk have reopened. Visitors are asked to observe all trail closure signs. Last entry 1/2 hour before the park closes.
Flag Ponds Nature Park is now open to both residents and non-residents. Monday and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Last entry one hour before the park closes. No walk-ins allowed when the gate is closed. Gate, Bathhouse, beach & pier close 1 hour before the park closes.
Biscoe Gray Heritage Farm is open to all users, daily dawn to dusk. No restroom facilities.
Hughes Tree Farm is open to all users, daily dawn to dusk. No restroom facilities.
Hutchins Pond is open to all users, daily dawn to dusk. No restroom facilities.
Lower Marlboro Wharf is open to all users, daily dawn to dusk. No restroom facilities.
Nan’s Cove is open to all users, daily dawn to dusk. No restroom facilities.
Gatewood Preserve (parking area by entrance gate) is open to all users, daily dawn to dusk. No restroom facilities.
Solomons Boat Ramp & Fishing Pier is open to all users. Ramp fees may be charged
Ward Farm Recreation & Nature Park is not open to the public.

The Department of Parks & Recreation is in the business of planning, developing, implementing and professionally managing the parks, programs, policies and procedures, facilities, special events and leisure services established under the leadership of the Board of County Commissioners, County Administrator, Parks Administration, and the associated advisory boards of Calvert County.
