The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Hearing Room in the Calvert County Circuit Courthouse, located at 175 Main St. in Prince Frederick. The Public Hearing time, date, and location may be revised by announcement of an emergency, such as inclement weather, without further publication and may be confirmed on the County website, or calling any number listed below on the date of the Hearing. At the hearing, the Board will receive and consider comments regarding the adoption of the 2018 International Building Code and 2018 International Residential Code, with proposed amendments, as the Calvert County Building Code.

The Calvert County Building Board, after thorough review and discussion, recommends that the Board of County Commissioners of Calvert County adopt the 2018 International Building Code and 2018 International Residential Code, with the proposed amendments, as the Calvert County Building Code.  Implementation of an effective building code promotes health, safety, and welfare and provides protection and benefit to all citizens of Calvert County. 

Interested persons are urged to view the proposal in its entirety by either contacting the Department of Planning & Zoning, Inspections and Permits Division at (410) 535-2155, joe.hawxhurst@calvertcountymd.gov, or by viewing the local amendments on the County website at: www.calvertcountymd.gov/publichearings. Written comments will be made part of the record if received by close of business the day before the public hearing.  This meeting will be streamed live on the County website. The proposed provisions may be substantively modified, revised, amended or otherwise changed based upon comments received at the public hearing.
