Citizens will be furnished with information including, but not limited to: the amount of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds expended thus far for the project; the total award ($800,000); the status of construction of the CDBG-funded activities. The Maryland CDBG Program is a federally funded program designed to assist units of local government with activities directed toward neighborhood and housing revitalization, economic development and improved community facilities and services. It is administered by the Department of Housing and Community Development. The CDBG Program reflects the State's economic and community development priorities and provides public funds for activities, which meet one of the following national objectives, in accordance with the Housing Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, that: provides benefit to low and moderate income persons and households; aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight; meet other community development needs of an urgent nature, or that are an immediate threat to community health and welfare.
Provide information and receive public comments on End Hunger in Calvert County Food Warehouse and Distribution Development

The Board of County Commissioners of Calvert County will hold a Public Hearing on February 23, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Hearing Room, 175 Main Street, Prince Frederick, MD. The Public Hearings time, date, and location may be revised by announcement of an emergency, such as inclement weather, without further publication and may be confirmed on the County website, or calling any number listed below on the date of the Hearing. At the Hearing, the Board will consider and receive comments regarding the progress of the construction of a 21,000 square-foot commercial grade food storage and distribution center at 6021 Solomons Island Road, in Huntingtown, known as the End Hunger in Calvert County Food Warehouse and Distribution Center, a CDBG-funded project.
Any of the foregoing proposed provisions may be substantively modified, revised, amended, or otherwise changed based upon comments received at the public hearing.
At the time of publication, physical attendance is disallowed by Executive Order of the Governor.
