2021 Therapeutic Recreation Summer Camps
The Calvert County Department of Parks & Recreation Therapeutic Recreation Services is pleased to offer multiple summer camp options for individuals with with special needs this year.

Camp Calvert is for children and youth ages 5-21 years (camper must be 5 by June 25, 2021 – no exceptions!) with various disabilities to participate in the same beneficial and fun programs found at a traditional camp. Personal care will be available for medications, g-tubes and personal hygiene. Much of camp will take place outside with limited indoor programs. NO TRANSPORTATION WILL BE AVAILABLE! Cost is $475 per camper. Camp will run June 28 - July 23 Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at two locations Dowell House - Activity # 573993 and Mt. Hope Community Center - Activity # 573995
TR Tot Camp
This camp is designed to allow children ages 3-5 years with various disabilities to attend a week-long, half-day camp. Children will participate in traditional camp games, crafts, sports and fitness activities. Campers must bring their own lunches. Children in diapers or pull ups will be accepted. Cost is $85 per camper per session. Camp will run July 26 - 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Solomons Town Center Park - Activity # 57499 and August 3 - 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hallowing Point Park - Activity # 574990.
TR Nature Camp
This camp is for individuals ages 8-16 years with special needs. Participants will visit various nature parks in Calvert County and enjoy group activities such as nature education lessons, crafts and water activities. We will be outside the entire week!
Campers will need to bring all walking and swim gear necessary, as well as a water bottle and a bag lunch. Must be able to participate with minimal assistance.
Sign up for one or five days of exploring nature together. Activity # 571996. Section A-Flag Ponds 8/2, B-Solomons Fishing Pier 8/3, C-Battle Creek Cypress Swamp 8/4, D-Calvert Cliffs 8/5, E-Kings Landing 8/6. Cost is $25 per camper per session.
TR Aquatic Camp
This camp is for individuals ages 8-16 years with special needs. Participants will meet at the Hall Aquatic Center daily for a week of aquatic activities. Campers will partake in group swim lessons, rafts, water safety activities, aquatic exercise and open swim.
Campers will need to bring all swim gear necessary, including sunscreen, as well as a bag lunch. Non-swim activities will take place outside in a fenced area. Must be able to participate with minimal assistance.
Camp will run August 9 - 13 at Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cost is $125 per camper. Activity # 571995
