CAASA Mini Grants
CAASA provides $4,000 in mini grants to community organizations to encourage and promote prevention activities. CAASA’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce this year’s mini-grant recipients:
2019-2020 Grant Award Recipients
- Calvert Middle School – Prevention Activities – grant funds will be used throughout the year to sponsor alcohol and other drug prevention activities in the school.
- Mutual Elementary School - grant funds will be used to fund the My Anger & Me Program by helping to purchase "calm down" kits and Second Step Anti-bulling kits. The program aims to reduce emotional outbursts, increase student’s coping skills, develop positive peer relationships, and teach anti-bullying strategies to all students.
- Patuxent and Appeal Elementary Campus – to assist with the Sensory Path Program. This project will provide a designated space within the school where students can retreat to when feeling overwhelmed with emotions and engage safely in a guided sensory walk. Sensory paths give kids a safe space to regulate their mood and behaviors.
Applications for the 2020-2021 grant year are available. Please check back at that time or call the CAASA Office at 410-535-3733 to request an application be mailed to you.
