Comprehensive Plan Update and Zoning Ordinance Rewrite

Board of County Commissioners to Hold Public Hearing on Draft Calvert County Comprehensive Plan

The Board of County Commissioners of Calvert County ("BOCC") will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Calvert Pines Senior Center, 450 West Dares Beach Road, Prince Frederick, MD 20678, to consider and receive comments on the proposed adoption of the Calvert County Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan adopted thereafter will replace the current Calvert County Comprehensive Plan, adopted in 2005 and amended in 2010 and 2017.

The Calvert County Planning Commission submitted its recommendation as required by law on April 4, 2019, the December 2018 Draft. Interested persons are urged to view the recommended Plan, as well as prior drafts thereof, in their entirety by either contacting the Department of Planning & Zoning at 410-535-1600 x2356, or by viewing the proposed plan on the County website.

The BOCC may adopt, amend, remand, or disapprove the recommended Plan. In doing so, the BOCC may consider earlier drafts of the recommended Plan, which remain available through the County's website and are available for viewing during regular business hours through the
Department of Planning & Zoning. The recommended Plan may also be substantively modified, revised, amended or otherwise changed based upon comments received at the public hearing.

Individuals may submit written comments. Written comments must be received by 4:30 p.m., Monday, April 29, and may be submitted by emailing or through the U.S. mail to the BOCC at 175 Main Street, Prince Frederick, MD 20678. Written comments will be accepted at the BOCC's public hearing up until the BOCC closes the record; people delivering comments to the hearing should bring fifteen copies for the BOCC, staff, and the media.
