    Board of County Commissioners meetings are held Tuesdays at 10 a.m. in the Commissioners' Hearing Room, located in the Calvert County Circuit Courthouse at 175 Main St. in Prince Frederick. Meetings are open to the public and generally last the business day. In addition, the board holds evening meetings when necessary. Time and place of evening meetings are advertised in the local Calvert County newspapers. An agenda for the weekly meeting is published the Thursday prior to the Tuesday meeting.

  1. Architectural Review Committee - Owings Town Center Meeting - CANCELLED

    THIS MEETING HAS BEEN CANCELLED

    The committee makes recommendations to the Planning Commission regarding approval of exterior design features of public and private buildings, including building scale and the relationship between proposed buildings and existing buildings and green spaces, structures, and signs on the basis of the Town Center (TC) Architectural standards and criteria; promotes awareness of good design within the community; and reviews master plans and make recommendations. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of every month at 3:30 p.m.

  2. Planning Commission Meeting

    July 17, 2019, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Harriet E. Brown Community Center

    Appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, the Planning Commission serves as a citizen review board on county planning decisions. The Planning Commission is both an advisory and decision-making body. Planning Commission meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the third Wednesday of each month with the exception of the month of December. Special Meetings are held on as "as needed" basis.

    The board oversees the conduct of all elections held in the county, ensuring that the elections process is conducted in an open, convenient, and impartial manner. The board registers any eligible person who wishes to vote and is responsible for all registrations for county, state, and national elections, as well as the registrations for the municipalities of the county.     The state of Maryland empowers the Board of License Commissioners (commonly referred to as the Liquor Board, and hereinafter referred to as the "Board") to administer and enforce the provisions of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland. The Board has adopted its own Rules and Regulations necessary to carry out its duties under Article 2B. Meetings are held the fourth Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

  5. Environmental Commission Meeting

    July 29, 2019, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ County Services Plaza, 3rd Floor Conference Room

    The Environmental Commission is a citizen board of experts on environmental factors that affect Calvert County and the Chesapeake Bay. They work to spread public awareness of environmental issues and to advise County staff upon request. Each meeting of the Environmental Commission features a guest speaker, who will speak on a topic related to his/her field of expertise and the natural environment of Calvert County and the Chesapeake Bay. This guest speaker is generally scheduled for 6:00 PM - 6:45 PM of each meeting.

    The Board of County Commissioners of Calvert County will hold a public hearing Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 5 p.m. at the Calvert Pines Senior Center to consider and receive comments on the adoption of the Calvert County Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan adopted thereafter will replace the current Calvert County Comprehensive Plan, adopted in 2005 and amended in 2010 and 2017.
