A referral from the Department of Planning & Zoning must accompany any application for a variance, special exception, or change in the scope, size or nature of a non-conforming use or structure. The referral is generated through the normal development review process. Please consult with the appropriate staff member in the Department of Planning & Zoning to obtain the necessary referral form. The only exceptions to the referral form requirement are cases that involve reconsideration requests, decisions on alleged errors, and remands from Circuit Court.
