Healthy Families
A voluntary home visitation program for pregnant women and women with children under 3 months of age that provides parent training, referral services, child development activities and role models for effective parenting. Send an email to Healthy Families Coordinator for more information.
Reentry Family Reintegration
Provides opportunities for disconnected youth and parents at Calvert County Detention Center to reconnect with families, and receive case management and interventions that meet their criminogenic needs, especially those related to behavioral health, education and employment. A system wide change that aims to strengthen families impacted by incarceration, Reentry Family Reintegration provides the following:
- Reentry case management
- Mediation and community conferencing
- Trauma-informed training for detention staff and volunteers
Youth Intervention & Engagement
Tri-County Youth Services Bureau provides the following services for children in need of supervision (CINS), and youth ages 5 to 24, and their families:
- therapeutic interventions that address mental health needs
- youth development and peer led groups to build resiliency and life skills
- case management with opportunities for psychoeducational curriculum
- substance abuse assessment and referrals
Asset Development
An ongoing collaboration with the Calvert Collaborative for Children and Youth to promote asset development throughout Calvert County. Grounded in extensive research in youth development, resiliency and prevention, the developmental assets developed by Search Institute represent the relationships, opportunities and personal qualities that young people need to avoid risks and to thrive.
